what? a liebster award for me?

Kelly from Blart Blog was so nice to nominate me for a Liebster Award! My blog is pretty new so I definitely thank her for thinking of me.

What is the Liebster Award?

The Liebster Award's origins are pretty much a mystery. Bloggers nominate other bloggers that have 200 or less followers. “Liebster” is German for “favorite,” so this is kind of like the “favorite blog award.” It's basically a "Hey, that's a sweet little blog you've got there. Here's an award!" You can't just accept the award. You have to play by the (ever changing) rules and pay it forward. Then you can put the award on your blog for all to see.

Rules of the Liebster Award:

1. List 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
3. Create 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
4. Choose 11 bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.

This is a monogram set I completed for Kerry and Leah.  The letters are painted a metallic gold with a metallic chocolate brown underneath.  All of the letters have been distressed so the brown color shows through.  I think these letters will look great in their home!

is this seat taken?

Wedding chair decor options are pretty much endless. Paper and ribbon for reserved tags or cute quotes are a great yet simple way to accent your chairs. But if simple is just not your thing then you can deck out your chairs with vintage jar vases and flowers like the chairs shown above.  Of course the ever popular "Mr." and "Mrs." signs are great too.  If the more expensive chair options like chiavari are not in your price range then spicing up less expensive chairs with embellishments such as flowers or even paper garland would be a more affordable option.

out of town

Out of town on vacation visiting family in Texas.  I will be back on Tuesday.  Going to the state fair today.  Can't wait to try some "deep fried anything"!

UPDATE: Tried the Fletchers famous corn dog, a fried Oreo, and a fried PB&J sandwich. YUM! They had a fried butter stick but that was going a little far even for me.

These are favor bags I am working on for a customer.  These cute bags are for a baby shower. Little zoo animals and a personalized name tag are too cute!  These bags are just a little bit bigger so they can accommodate larger favor items.

something different ~ molly jean!

So I think each week I am going to try to post about a topic unrelated to weddings just to switch it up a bit.   I guess I will write about whatever pops into my head and right now something cute and cuddly is on my mind.  I would like to introduce you to my baby...Molly Jean.  She is my "evil" little dog. Although my sweet angel has a mean streak (she's 9 years old and cranky-we call her our "little old lady"), she is always making us laugh and she loves her mom and dad.  So here are a couple of pics for you to ohhh and ahhh over.

where have you been all my life?

It is a bummer that wonderful wedding websites were not around in January 2008 when I was getting married.  I am a Style Me Pretty and Pinterest addict and all I can think is how lucky brides are today to have these great tools.  SMP launched in February of 2007 but I had no idea it was around and it had not hit its stride yet. Same goes for Etsy. I did not find the Etsy marketplace until 2009.  The other great sites shown above (Wedding Chicks and Oh Lovely Day) either weren't on my radar or hadn't been launched yet.  I am sure it is only a matter of time before some new and amazing site comes along and again makes me turn a little greener. Envy is not a pretty color on me!  If you know of any great wedding websites list them here.  I am always looking for new inspiration.

trick or treat

I love Halloween and it has been my favorite holiday since I found out Santa wasn't real.  What a sad depressing day...but I digress. I love Halloween because it is scary and spooky. But the candy, now that it reason enough to love the holiday!  Over the years I have seen photos of some amazing Halloween weddings. I would have loved to do this on my big day but I didn't have the nerve.  So living vicariously through the photos above, I have complied some of my favorite Halloween designs.  I am looking forward to adding more amazing photos once "Halloween 2012" has come and gone.

lovely aisle's

Options are limitless when it comes to aisle decor.  It is amazing how a simple space can be turned into something magical and romantic.   I complied several photos of aisle decor that I love.  I am also a fan of ceremony chair decor.  Flowers, candles and fabric sash's are all great ideas to add flair to an aisle way.  This is something I did not do for my wedding and I could kick myself for it!

a flower for every occasion

I just love these escort cards / place cards.  They are made out of beautiful soft tapioca wood.  The petals are folded for a soft look.  These escort cards go with any theme: formal, casual, traditional, modern, rustic.
A white shimmering tag is attached to each flower with your guests names and table numbers.
You can find these at my Etsy store, Company Forty Two .

Beautiful Fall

I love rustic weddings!  I'd have to say they are my favorite type of wedding.  Some how they seem informal and beautifully elegant at the same time. Living in Florida it is not as common to see rustic weddings. Beach themes are the staple here. So I must live vicariously through the internet.  The photos above are a sample of some of my most favorite rustic weddings.  These are the elegant "chandelier in a barn" type not the "bride pulling up on a tractor" type. ::lol::

Dog Days

Ok well this one speaks for itself.  Even if you are one of those people who believe that animals have no place in wedding ceremonies...you have to agree that these are some cute little pups!

Would you like fries with that?

I love the little surprises that are popping up on wedding menus these days.  How much fun are these food options.  Most of them can be eaten with your hands and even the classic hamburger and fries looks fancy.  What is going on the those food orbs??? That is something you don't see everyday and the chocolate milk and cookies are great for younger and older guests alike. This proves that wedding food doesn't have to be stuffy to be upscale.

Let Them Eat Cake

I love these cake servers.  Cake server sets in my opinion have become an elusive find. It is rare to find  a beautiful cake server set that doesn't look like something you would find in your grandmothers silver drawer.  Puzzling but there are very little unique and modern sets out there.  These sets are made by "Beadz 2 Pleaz", a fellow Etsy store owner. They have modern and rustic sets that fit all seasons and color palettes.  Beadz 2 Pleaz also accepts custom orders, so if you don't see what you are looking for don't be afraid to ask!

Happy Planning!
