a flower for every occasion

I just love these escort cards / place cards.  They are made out of beautiful soft tapioca wood.  The petals are folded for a soft look.  These escort cards go with any theme: formal, casual, traditional, modern, rustic.
A white shimmering tag is attached to each flower with your guests names and table numbers.
You can find these at my Etsy store, Company Forty Two .

Beautiful Fall

I love rustic weddings!  I'd have to say they are my favorite type of wedding.  Some how they seem informal and beautifully elegant at the same time. Living in Florida it is not as common to see rustic weddings. Beach themes are the staple here. So I must live vicariously through the internet.  The photos above are a sample of some of my most favorite rustic weddings.  These are the elegant "chandelier in a barn" type not the "bride pulling up on a tractor" type. ::lol::

Dog Days

Ok well this one speaks for itself.  Even if you are one of those people who believe that animals have no place in wedding ceremonies...you have to agree that these are some cute little pups!

Would you like fries with that?

I love the little surprises that are popping up on wedding menus these days.  How much fun are these food options.  Most of them can be eaten with your hands and even the classic hamburger and fries looks fancy.  What is going on the those food orbs??? That is something you don't see everyday and the chocolate milk and cookies are great for younger and older guests alike. This proves that wedding food doesn't have to be stuffy to be upscale.

Let Them Eat Cake

I love these cake servers.  Cake server sets in my opinion have become an elusive find. It is rare to find  a beautiful cake server set that doesn't look like something you would find in your grandmothers silver drawer.  Puzzling but there are very little unique and modern sets out there.  These sets are made by "Beadz 2 Pleaz", a fellow Etsy store owner. They have modern and rustic sets that fit all seasons and color palettes.  Beadz 2 Pleaz also accepts custom orders, so if you don't see what you are looking for don't be afraid to ask!

Yummy Yummy Mint!

So word out on the street is that "Mint" is the hot color for the 2013 wedding season.  Mint is an unexpected color that I didn't see coming. It is a welcomed change from recent trends.  I love this color and now it is super easy to find beautiful mint inspired products and ideas on the web.  I think it is going to be an "all or nothing" color.  You either love it or you hate it.  I am sure some will be having flashbacks of the sea foam green craze that took off running in the 90's. I personally was a victim of that trend! But rest assured, if done right, even the most self-proclaimed "mint haters" might start to fall for this color. I know I did.

The Same But Different

When coming up with a color palette for a special occasion there is only one thing to remember...the same but different.  When all of
the design elements come together there should be a cohesiveness about them but with out that "bed in a bag" feel.  When everything is to "matchy matchy" unique design concepts get lost amongst each other. Using different types of fabric, textured paper and contrasting wood with metal or glass can really help draw the eye to the design. It is also a great idea to mix old and new elements together. Whichever direction you choose to go just remember to have fun with it. After all it is a party!

Making Food Fun

Whether a small dinner party or a big event, I love when there are individual menus at each place setting.  It is nice to see what is in store for dinner before it is served  but more importantly I love how it adds to the tablescape and helps make and ordinary plate pop. You can create a simple menu with plain cardstock while using a creative font to add flare or you can go all out with embellishments and patterned paper.  Casual or fancy, individual menus are just fun!
