practice makes perfect

Rehearsal dinners are probably the most over-looked event in the wedding process.  There are a lot of frazzled nerves the night before the wedding so it is no wonder brides and grooms might keep the rehearsal dinner simple and sweet.  But rehearsal dinners need a little love too!  This is the last time you will gather with your family and friends as a single girl or gal and it is a perfect time to thank all of the special people who have come together to make your wedding memorable. One good way to do this is to use photos of family and friends in your decor (like in a couple of pics above.)  So have some fun and reward yourself for all of the sweat and tears you have poured into your wedding!

the hero blogger

So as you know I just underwent a brand re-design and so I had to give my blog a face-lift to match my beautiful branding.  Well let's just say that all things "tech-y" leaves me confused and very very angry!  So I am so grateful that I had the help of one smart little cookie.  Crystal from The Angelorian Tradition helped me every step of the way and made this process a little more bearable and therefore I did not have to stick my head in the oven.  

Our conversations went a little something like this:

Shelly:  Can you help me create a Pinterest button for my photos

Crystal: Sure, it is simple. All you have to do is {mumbo jumbo} {confusing crap} {foreign language}

Shelly: CRYSTAL!  I DON'T GET IT! {whine like a baby} {beg for help} {stopping feet}

Crystal: Ummm why don't you just let me do it.

Shelly: Well if you insist...

the new co. 42!

 Introducing the new Company Forty Two!!!  I am absolutely in love with my new branding. Angela from Saffron Avenue was able to take my vision and create a beautiful brand.  We stuck with a calming color palette and kept the design simple.  The new logo is a perfect blend between rustic and modern design.  Angela created the overall logo, twitter page, facebook page, etsy banner, business cards and packaging materials.

I had such a great experience working with Angela.  If you are looking for a branding upgrade I would highly recommend using Saffron Avenue.

I had the opportunity the other day of meeting Elizabeth Scovil, the owner and designer of "Elizabeth Scovil  Designer Handbags."  She gave us a tour of her office and we got to see all of her amazing handbags and accessories.  I purchased a beautiful business card holder in a fun purple floral fabric that I am absolutely loving.  Her items work great as bridesmaids gifts too.  With so many patterns to choose from there will be no problem finding a fabulous bag that will match each of your bridesmaids personal style.

I am taking a big step and re-branding my company.  Co. 42 is getting a face lift! I am working with Saffron Avenue on my logo and all the little details that re-branding includes. Bella Collina, located in Clermont, Florida, has to be one of the most amazing wedding venues I have ever seen.  I had the pleasure of visiting the Bella Collina and taking a tour of the venue.  Stone buildings, rustic columns and rolling green grass are just a few reasons why the Bella Collina is a must see.  I thought I would post some photos for you to drool over!

I am so excited to let you all know that Company Forty Two was featured in the Wedding 411 magazine.  Our embroidery hoop table number was in a article called "Setting the Green Scene".  The article was all about sustainable table settings and I am so grateful that Wedding 411 contacted me to be a contributor for the spring issue.

Nothing is sweeter then a baby shower.  These wooden glitter animal themed disc's are for a client. I am in the process of working on the bags.  Each disc will be embellished with a cream bead.  These bags are great for larger favors such as cookies or other yummy treats.;-)

For those of you who do not know I will be taking some time off from Company Forty Two. My husband was admitted into the hospital with congestive heart failure. We are hoping and praying that he once again can beat this. Signing off for now.

These beautiful wooden flowers will eventually become place cards for a bride who is getting married on the 26th.  This is a order of 150, so there is still some work to do!  Each flower will have a cream name tag attached.  Just wanted to give a sneak peak of how they were coming along.

These wooden numbers are for a client who will be doing her own table numbers.  These were laser cut and then painted white.  The font shown is Garton.
